Externship Project

I don’t think I remember a time in my life when I didn’t want to be a veterinarian. As many others, I grew up loving all animals, but I was also always interested in how I could help them and keep them healthy and happy.

I was born in London, Ontario, and moved to Guelph when I was about 6 - so I’ve been a local for quite some time. I stayed at the University of Guelph and completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science. When I was growing up, I spent my spare time interacting with as many species of animals as possible in a wide variety of settings, and developed a keen interest for exotics.

This summer, I will be combining my love of the outdoors, wildlife, and travel with my externship placement, and will be driving out to Vancouver Island in British Columbia to complete my externship at Tsolum Mobile Veterinary Clinic.

I chose this practice partially because of the location and opportunity to learn about veterinary practice in a completely different part of the country, but also because of the fantastic mentorship and networking opportunity. I am excited to share my journey with all of you, including my trip across country!
