Angie can’t recall a time she didn’t have a pet when growing up in the Philippines. She originally planned to pursue companion animal medicine, but the more she learned about mixed animal practice, focusing on companion, equine and food animals, the greater her interest in this area of veterinary medicine. She has a particular passion for public health and international development and last summer spent some time in Tanzania with Veterinarians Without Borders. She thinks the OVC Externship Blog Project is a great opportunity to connect with and educate people about the student veterinarian experience. She’ll be in Walkerton, Ontario at the Walkerton-Hanover Veterinary Clinic for her externship.
