I'm originally from Williamstown, a rural community about half way between Ottawa and Montreal. Williamstown has no street lights, banks or even a Tim Hortons. The running joke is that there are more cows than people! I went to the University of Guelph and did three years in the Bio-Medical Sciences program. While in undergrad I volunteered in the large animal wards at OVC, the OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital and participated in foal watch. These opportunities only made me want to be a veterinarian more. I will be doing my externship placement at not one, but two clinics; Vankleek Hill Veterinary Services (large animal) and Hawkesbury Animal Hospital (small animal).
