I grew up on my family’s dairy farm in Williamstown Massachusetts. Williamstown is a small town located alongside the Appalachian mountain range and is known for its beautiful mountain views. As you can guess my life was always surrounded with a wide variety of animals including cats, dogs, horses and of course dairy cattle. I am not the typical veterinary student in that, I did not always know that I wanted to be a veterinarian. For the longest time, I wanted to be just like my father and be a dairy farmer. I will always remember the day that my father told me “Don’t be like me, be something more.” As a grew older I developed an interest in science and medicine that led me to the Ontario Veterinary College. I have made it through three years here at OVC with the help of my faithful dog Leah. This summer Leah and I will be traveling home to start my final clinical year in the rural community practice stream. I hope you all follow along with us this summer!
